ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's and women's swimming and diving teams begin their schedules for the 2024-25 season today with a dual meet at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. The Scots will compete in 11 events leading up to the MIAC Championships Feb. 19-22.
After today's meet at Luther, the Scots will host Saint Benedict/Saint John's on Oct. 26 and Carleton on Nov. 9 at Riley Pool. Both the men's and women's teams will host the annual Macalester Invitational at Riley Pool on Dec. 6-7 to close out 2024. The final home meet of the season is on Jan. 25 against Grinnell, with the Scots honoring their seniors as a part of Senior Day.
The home slate also includes the annual Ted Mullin Hour of Power on Nov. 12, with the Scots joining college teams around the MIAC and the nation in raising funds for cancer research. The event honors former Carleton swimmer Edward H. "Ted" Mullin, who passed away from synovial sarcoma in 2006.
The schedule builds towards the MIAC Championships, held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center Feb. 19-22. The Scots broke a combined 20 school records at the MIAC Championships last year, with the women's team winning five individual events and the men's team capturing an individual conference title for the first time since 2017.
All home meets will be streamed live via the Macalester Athletics website on the
MIAC Sports Network.
