ST. PAUL, Minn. - This February marks the 38th anniversary of National Girls and Women in Sport Day. From the Women's Sports Foundation, this celebration inspires girls to play and be active, to realize their full potential. This year we have teamed up with the nonprofit organization, SG United Foundation also known as Strong Girls United, whose mission is to empower girls to be strong, confident, and resilient. Their programs combine sport, mentorship, and mental health, things we very much value here.
Who? Local girls (grades K-8th) in the community and Macalester female student-athletes and staff. Parents/guardians can enter through the West campus-facing doors at 125 Snelling Ave. S. and there will be signs leading you to the 2nd floor.
When? Saturday February 3
rd, 2023 at 11:00 am- 12:30 pm
Registration will be at 11:00 am in the Atrium of the Leonard Center Fieldhouse.
You are invited to attend the Macalester women's basketball game in the gym immediately following the event. Please pick up your attendee at the 2nd floor of the fieldhouse at 12:30 pm and bring them down to the women's basketball game if you would like to. Attendees will be recognized at halftime. Attendees need to have an adult responsible for them at the women's basketball game.
Where? Leonard Center Field house (2nd floor) at 125 Snelling Ave S. There will be signs.
What? A celebration of National Girls and Women in sports day including team building activities, mini skills stations and participating in empowerment stations.
