Menomonie, Wis. – Macalester College women's soccer team played its tenth game of the season this afternoon, on the road against the University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils. The Scots picked up all three points, with a 2-0 victory. Macalester is now 6-2-2 (2-1 MIAC).
Sophomore
Bella Zerafa (Sartell, Minn./Sartell) made an appearance in goal today for the Scots, making a save in the seventh minute to deny the Blue Devils the opening goal. The two teams battled back-and-forth, in search of the opening goal. Sophomore
Mikaely Evans (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) had a shot saved by the Blue Devils' goalkeeper in the last few minutes of the first half, while Zerafa made two more saves at the end of the first half to maintain a 0-0 scoreline heading into the second half.

Gaby Valle (Compton, Calif./Chadwick School) opened the second half by forcing a save from UW-Stout's goalie. Junior
Ella Thomsen (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) continued the offensive attack with two saved shots of her own. In the 68
th minute, Valle was able to put one past the keeper and score her first collegiate goal. Valle was assisted by Evans. Just three minutes later, Valle made it 2-0 for the Scots. Macalester maintained their lead for the remainder of the match and won the game.
Zerafa tallied four saves on the afternoon, while the defensive efforts of Macalester kept the Blue Devils from scoring, tallying their seventh shutout of the season. The Scots' next game will be against MIAC opponent Bethel, on the road, on Tuesday Sept. 27 at 4:00 p.m.
