Men’s Basketball: Six Scots Included on NABC Honors Court; Team Also Honored

PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's basketball team placed six student-athletes on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court for the 2021-22 season, the organization announced today. The six honorees are Shane Anderson (Fargo, N.D./Davies), Lucas Leiter (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan), Gabriel Ramos (Dorado, Puerto Rico/Tasis Dorado), Eric Sathy (Cupertino, Calif./Homestead) and rising seniors Ahad Anjum (Karachi, Pakistan/American School of Dubai) and Jon Kazor (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep).

As a team, the Scots also received the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes programs with team grade point averages of 3.0 or higher for the 2021-22 season. 

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts off the court and the hard work exhibited in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, student-athletes must be a junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher at the end of the 2020-21 academic year.

Anderson (biology), Leiter (applied mathematics), Ramos (computer science/political science) and Sathy (economics) graduated from Macalester in May. Leiter, Sathy, Anjum (economics/computer science) and Kazor (physics) all made the MIAC Academic All-Conference team this spring.

Macalester was one of seven MIAC schools along with Augsburg, Carleton, Concordia, Hamline, Saint John's and St. Olaf to receive the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award and have players named to the NABC Honors Court.
