ST. PAUL, Minn. – In response to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus, and in the best interest of our student-athletes, Macalester College Athletics has canceled plans for seven programs to travel over spring break. These concerns have diminished the ability to ensure a quality experience for our student-athletes, caused a majority of our opponents to cancel their trips, and increased anxiety among our student-athletes, coaches and parents.

 The impacted programs include:
 
- Baseball (Tucson, Ariz., Mar. 13-22)
- Softball (Orlando, Fla., Mar. 13-21)
- Men's and women's tennis (Hilton Head, S.C., Mar. 14-21)
- Men's and women's golf (Palm Springs, Calif., Mar. 16-21)
- Water polo (Los Angeles, Calif., Mar. 17-22)

Additionally, the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C., have been canceled.
