Women's Tennis: Scots Beat Saint Benedict, End Season With 5-4 Win

ST. JOSEPH, Minn.- The Macalester women's beat the College of Benedict 5-4 today. The win ends the season for the Scots.

No. 4 singles junior Claire Buehler (Awty International School) won 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Emma Baker ( Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) followed in the fifth spot and beat her opponent 7-6, 6-0. The Scots swept the Bennies in doubles. Sophomore Natali Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and Baker combined to win 8-3. Sophomore Laurel Hickey (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and senior Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. Of Chicago Laboratory School) beat their opponents 8-4. Finally, Buehler and Rainah Ward (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) won 8-2.

Macalester women's tennis ended the year 8-9 overall and 3-7 in the MIAC.
