Men's Tennis: Scots Sweep Saint Mary's University

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn.- The Macalester men's tennis team swept Saint Mary's University today. The Scots won 9-0 and are now 7-0 on the season.

No. 1 singles sophomore Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) won 6-1, 6-1 and is still undefeated in singles play. First year Jeffrey Jorgensen (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) won in the No. 2 spot 6-1, 6-3.

Sophomore Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) beat his opponent 6-4, 6-1. Senior Peter Willenborg (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith), senior Matt Yang (Bethesda, MD./Walt Whitman) and first year Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Madison West) also all won in straight sets.

The Scots swept the Cardinals in doubles.

Macalester returns to play Monday, Mar.18, in Hilton Head, S.C. for the team's spring trip.
