HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Macalester women's tennis beat Virginia Wesleyan University today 6-3.

In singles, sophomore Natali Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) won 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot. Junior Claire Buehler (Awty International School) beat her opponent 6-0, 6-2 and junior Camilla Bendetti (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) won 6-1, 6-2.

The Scots swept in doubles as senior Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. Of Chicago Laboratory School) and sophomore Laurel Hickey (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) combined to win 8-4. Sorajja and sophomore Emma Baker ( Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) beat their opponents 8-1. Then Bendetti and Buehler won a close match 8-7.

Macalester returns to play Tuesday, Mar. 18, against Asbury College in Hilton Head, S.C.
