WINONA, Minn. --Â Macalester opened the game on a 13-2 run and never trailed as the Scots closed out the 2014-15 campaign with a 74-54 win at St. Mary's.
Hans Erickson matched his season highs with eight points
five rebounds in his career finale.Bert Yaffe opened the game with a three-point basket and
Dylan Kilgour followed suit with an assist from
Kareem Ismail. Kilgour then returned the favor to Ismail, who gave Macalester an 8-0 lead with a layup.
After the Cardinals finally got on the scoreboard, Kilgour responded with another three as well as a layup, accounting for eight of the Scots' first 13 points.
The hosts would eventually cut the lead to three points but headed into the intermission trailing by eight but the Scots put together an 11-2 run to start the second half and would not lead by fewer than eight points the rest of the way.
Yaffe and fellow senior
Hans Erickson both ended their careers on high notes. Yaffe finished the game with 16 points and five assists while Erickson, playing the final game of his career just 25 miles from his hometown of La Crosse, Wis., matched his season highs with eights points and five rebounds.
Kilgour turned in one of his best all-around performances of the season with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals to pack the victory.
Kyle Bernhard added 11 points and Ismail scored eight points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
