Macalester will return to play after nearly a month off to compete against two solid Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams. The Scots will make the short trip to Hamline University for a 1 p.m. tipoff on Saturday, Jan. 3 to kick off the New Year.
 
The Records
Macalester: 2-6 overall, 0-2 MIAC.
Hamline: 6-4 overall, 1-2 MIAC.

When Last We Met
The teams last met on Feb. 1 of last year when the Pipers defeated Macalester 82-71 in the Leonard Center. Hamline had four players reach double digits in scoring and shot 48% from the field and 50% on three-pointers. Macalester was led by Erin Murray (So.,Sparta, Wis.), who finished with 20 points, seven assists and three steals with another strong all-around game. MIAC scoring leader Jordan Sammons led the Pipers with 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. 

Last Time Out
Before breaking for the holidays, the Scots traveled to Northfield, Minn. for a MIAC contest against Carleton. The Scots fell to Carleton, 59-45.

In a competitive first-half battle, the Scots trailed by just five (27-32) after junior Erin Murray drained a jumper with time expiring in the half.

Shooting just 26% in the second half, the Scots were unable to overcome the deficit. Macalester was led in scoring by freshman guard, Vivi Gregorich. Gregorich finished with 11 points after hitting seven of nine shots from the line.
