Macalester hosted St. Mary's Monday night at the Leonard Center in search of its second MIAC win in a row, but were denied by the Cardinals, who shot 59% from the floor, including 66% in the first period to take a 41-25 halftime lead.  SMU completes the season sweep over the Scots with the 79-48 decision.

Kareem Ismail (Fy., Pasadena, Calif. / Flintridge Prep) tallied nine points and Luke Poulsen (Fy., Gill, Mass. / Northfield Mount Hermon) added eight to lead Macalester (3-17 / 2-13 MIAC). 

Willie Ferron scored 19 points and Will Swiggum added 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead St. Mary's (now 3-17overall and 2-13 in the MIAC).  Evan Pederson handed out 11 assists.  SMU led 18-2 in points off turnovers and 25-19 in bench points.

The Scots pulled down 10 offensive rebounds and led 9-4 in second chance points.

The Scots play Wednesday (Feb. 5) at Gustavus Adolphus.
