Bethel went out to a 27-point halftime lead and cruised to an 83-45 victory over Macalester Saturday afternoon at the Robertson Center in Arden Hills. The Royals shot 47% for the game and improve to 12-4 on the season, 10-3 in the MIAC. Macalester drops to 3-13 overall and 2-11 in MIAC competition.
The Royals led 29-6 with seven minutes to go in the opening half and for the stanza held Macalester to a 20% shooting figure.
Macalester was led by
Erin Murray (So., Sparta, Wis.) with 11 points.
Veronika Jakubovie (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) led the team with six rebounds, while
Katelyn Kack (So., Minneota, Minn.) handed out three assists.
Kallie Zimmermann had 14 points to lead the Royals and three teammates chipped in with 11 points apiece: Rachel Parupsky, Lexi Friesen and Sydney Schultz. BU led 14-12 in points in the paint and 19-2 in second chance points.
Next up for the Scots is a home game next Wednesday (Jan. 29) against St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m.
