Concordia extended its winning streak to six and remained tied for second place in the mid-season conference standings, opening up a 12-point halftime and going on to gain a 68-40 victory at Memorial Auditorium in Moorhead.
The Scots, who have now lost the eight in the series between these two teams, drop to 3-12 overall and 2-10 in the MIAC. The Cobbers move forward to 12-3 overall, 10-2 in the MIAC. Concordia out-scored Mac 31-15 in the second half to put things away and on the night shot 47% from the floor.
In defeat, the Scots were paced by
Taylor Pike (Sr., Ashland, Neb. / Ashland-Greenwood) with 11 points off the bench on a 5-for-9 shooting performance.
Veronika Jakubovie (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and
Erin Murray (So., Sparta, Wis.) each chipped in with eight points. Macalester's top rebounder was
Kathryn Medinger (Sr., Sitka, Alaska) with five boards.
Alexandra Lippert reached the 1,000-point career scoring plateau and finished with 14 points to pace the Cobbers.
Macalester is back in action Saturday (Jan. 25) when it plays at Bethel.
