Concordia pulled away at the end of the second half to turn a close game into a 76-65 MIAC victory over Macalester in Moorhead. The Cobbers gain a split of the season series after falling to Macalester in St. Paul in early December, and improve to an even 8-8 overall and 4-7 in the MIAC. The Scots drop to 2-14 on the season, 1-10 in the MIAC.
Macalester was paced by
Dylan Kilgour (So., La Crescenta, Calif. / Crescenta Valley) with 19 points and
Kareem Ismail (Fy., Pasadena, Calif. / Flintridge Prep) with 14 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double.
Griffin Glatt (So., Summit, N.J. / Newark Academy) carried the load in the early going and finished with 13 points.
Macalester shot a solid 48%, compared to 45% for the home team, and went 17-for-20 on free throws (85%). Concordia was 10-for-21 from outside the three-point arc and enjoyed a 16-7 turnover advantage.
Leading the way for the Cobs was Ryan Rude with 18 points, and Tom Fraase and Brandon Giese with 17 apiece.
Macalester is back in action Saturday (Jan. 25) with an MIAC game at Bethel.
