Men’s Basketball: Oles pull away from Scots

St. Olaf shot 54% for the game, making 9-of-20 from behind the three-point arc, and went on to gain a 96-57 win over the Scots at Macalester's Leonard Center.  The Oles advance to 9-4 on the season and 6-2 in the MIAC, while the Scots drop to 2-12 overall, 1-8 in MIAC play.  St. Olaf out-scored the home team 19-9 from the free throw stripe and enjoyed a 27-7 turnover advantage to net 40 points off turnovers.

Macalester had a couple starters reach double figures in scoring.  Dylan Kilgour (So., La Crescenta, Calif. / Crescenta Valley) led the way with 15 points to go along with four assists.  Kareem Ismail (Fy., Pasadena, Calif. / Flintridge Prep) added 14 points, and with nine re bounds, just missed out on a double-double.

Sager Moritzky (Fy., San Juan Capistrano, Calif. / St. Margaret's Episcopal) dished out eight assists.

Charlie Aslesen led the way for St. Olaf with 23 points.  Justin Pahl added 15 points and Josh Pratt scored 13.

Macalester returns to action next Monday (Jan. 13) against Carleton at the Leonard Center at 7:45 pm.
