Augsburg jumped out to a 30-16 halftime lead and went on to topple visiting Macalester 63-46 Saturday in Minneapolis. The Auggies improve their record to 6-4 overall and 3-4 in the MIAC, while the Scots fall to 2-9 on the season, 1-7 in MIAC play.
The Auggies shot 47% from the floor, compared to 27% for the Scots, and led 16-7 in points off turnovers.
Erika Weimann (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) knocked down 3-of-5 from outside the three-point arc and finished with 11 points to pace the Scots for the first time this season.
Erin Murray (So., Sparta, Wis.) added seven points and handed out three assists, and the team's rebounding leader was
Veronika Jakubovie (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) with six boards.
Augsburg was led by Jessica Lillquist with 14 points. Abbey Luger had nine points and 10 rebounds.
The Scots are back in action when then play Wednesday (Jan. 15) at St. Olaf.
