St. Mary's led 32-29 with 13:38 remaining before pulling away to top Macalester 58-46 in Winona Wednesday night.  The Cardinals avenge a seven-point setback to the Scots in St. Paul in early January.

Sam Marshall (Sr., Sun Prairie, Wis.) netted 14 points and Bert Yaffe (So., Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) chipped in with 11.  Kyle Bernhard (Fy., Sleepy Hollow, Ill. / Dundee-Crown) tallied nine points and Dylan Kilgour (Fy., LaCrescenta, Calif. / Crescenta Valley) added eight points to go along with three assists and a couple steals.  Andrew Matsumoto (Sr., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) led Mac's defense with three steals.

The Cardinals shot 48% from the field and received 14 rebounds from Will Swiggum.  Michael Burgeind led the scoring with 17 points, while Mark Schumacher and Brian Thomas each pumped in 14 points.  Tom Gores handed out five assists.  SMU was 10-for-13 from the free throw stripe, compared to 6-for-15 for Mac.

Macalester plays host to Carleton on Senior Day Saturday (Feb. 9) at 3 p.m.  The Scots play Augsburg and Bethel next week on the road to close out the season.
