Carleton pulls away to beat Mac

Carleton began a decisive 11-1 run with just under six minutes to play, extending a narrow four point lead and going to beat Macalester 55-45 in Northfield.  The contest was knotted at 28-28 at the halftime break, with the Knights gaining the victory by holding their guests to 17 second half points.

The Scots were led by Kyanna Jones (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn. / Osseo) with 14 points to go along with five rebounds.  Taylor Pike (Jr., Ashland, Neb. / Ashland-Greenwood) added seven points.  Emma Leyden (Jr., Berkeley, Calif. / Head-Royce) had six points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Gabbi Stienstra scored 14 points to lead the Knights.  Skylar Tsutsui scored 11 points and Megan Meads grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Scots begin a three-game homestand next Wednesday (Jan. 16) when they host No. 3-ranked St. Thomas.
