In a game featuring 12 lead changes and 10 ties, St. Mary's held off the Scots 57-52 Saturday in Winona.   The Cardinals held Macalester to 31% shooting and improve to 11-10 overall, 11-7 in the MIAC, while the Scots drop to 9-12 on the season and 7-11 in MIAC play.

Jessica Rene (Sr., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) paced Macalester with 17 points, going 7-for-10 from the field, and also collected four rebounds and three assists.  Shannon Rene (Sr.,  Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) contributed 10 points and helped Macalester post a 17-12 turnover advantage by collecting four steals.

Maggie Wood (Sr., Oregon, Wis. / Madison Edgewood) had eight points, seven boards, two steals and two assists.  Holly Schiedermayer (Sr., Waupaca, Wis.) scored nine points before fouling out.

SMU was led by Jessica Thone with 20 points and six assists.  Jamie Stefely had a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 11 boards.

Macalester gets back into action Wednesday (Feb. 8) at Augsburg.
