Scots hold off Augsburg 53-51

Box Score
Macalester began a 19-7 run midway through the second half and held off a late Augsburg charge to beat the Auggies 53-51 in Minneapolis in the final game until the New Year.  The Scots head into the break at 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the MIAC.

The Scots tallied the game's first 12 points before Augsburg recovered the contest was closely played for much of the game.  With the scored tied 36-36, Macalester scored nine of the next 10 points to take control, but Augsburg three-pointers at :44 and :40 reduced the margin to three points.  A turnover and layup with :06 to play cut the lead to one, but the visitors hung on.

Macalester out-rebounded Augsburg 57-32, but the Auggies enjoyed a +10 turnover advantage.

The Auggies, now 3-4 on the season and 1-4 in the MIAC, were led by Jill Tichy with 12 points and Abby Luger with 11.
