The Scots out-scored St. Olaf 15-2 over the final 6:06 of the opening period to go up 29-16 at the intermission, and held off a couple Ole comeback runs in the second half, pulling away to win by 10.
J. Rene paced Macalester with 16 points and S. Rene added 14. Jessica was 4-for-5 on her three-point tries.
Holly Schiedermayer (Jr., Waupaca, Wis.) chipped in with nine points, while
Kyanna Jones (So., Brooklyn Park, Minn. / Osseo) contributed eight rebounds and four assists. Jones also ended an 11-0 St. Olaf run with a three-point play with 7:26 to go to put Macalester up 44-38.
Macalester completes the season sweep over St. Olaf in this match between two teams coming in with 7-10 league marks and looking to stay in the race for an MIAC playoff berth.
The Scots are now 8-13 overall and 8-10 in the MIAC. The Oles drop to 10-11 on the season, 7-11 in the MIAC.
Macalester is off until Wednesday (Feb. 9) when they play at MIAC co-leader St. Benedict.
