Macalester vs. Concordia-Moorhead statistics
Macalester returned to the court for the first time since Dec. 11, losing 74-54 to once-beaten Concordia in Moorhead. The first-place Cobbers advance to to 5-0 in the MIAC, while the Scots drop to 2-4 in conference play.
The Scots went out on top 15-8 before Concordia chalked up 11 unanswered points to take the lead for good. Concordia led 32-26 at the halftime break.
The Scots were within single digits with 11:12 to play at 48-39, but could get no closer.
Macalester was led by
Majra Mucic (Sr., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park – Minn.) with 13 points.
Taylor Pike (Fy., Ashland, Neb. / Ashland-Greenwood) and
Jessica Rene (Jr., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) each added nine points with the help of a couple three-pointers.
Holly Schiedermayer (Jr., Waupaca, Wis.) grabbed eight rebounds and Mucic pulled down seven..
The Scots had 18 offensive rebounds, compared to eight for Concordia.
Maggie Bauernfeind scored 16 points and Erica Nord pumped in 14 to pace Concordia, which is now 7-1 overall. Five Cobbers reached double figures in scoring. The Cobbers were 22-for-24 from the foul line and held Mac to a 30% shooting figure.
The Scots, 2-7 on the season, play host to St. Benedict on Wednesday (Jan. 5) at 7:30 p.m.
