Macalester vs. St. Thomas statistics
The Scots made the short trip down Summit Avenue to take on MIAC title contender St. Thomas, and nearly pulled off the upset before falling 62-60 in a heart-breaker. The Tommies move up to 11-3 overall and remain ½ game behind first-place St. Benedict at 10-1 in the MIAC. Mac, going for its third win in a row, falls to 4-11 on the season, 4-8 in MIAC play.
There were 10 lead changes and nine ties in this battle, which was closely contested from start to finish. The lead was never greater than six points for either team and was within four points for nearly the entire game.
Macalester nailed 8-of-20 from three-point range.
Jessica Rene (Jr., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) was 5-for-8 on three's and finished with 17 points. Rene is 13-for-23 on three-pointers over the team's past three games.
Majra Mucic (Sr., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park – Minn.) also netted 17 points, while
Audrey Mills (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) came off the bench to produce 10 points.
UST's Rachel Booth had 18 points and nine rebounds. The Tommies led 30-8 in points in the paint.
