Macalester vs. Carleton statistics
Carleton shot 61% in the opening period, making 7-of-13 three-point tries, to open up a commanding 45-24 halftime lead, and went on to defeat Macalester 86-55 in Northfield. The Knights had five players score in double digits and on the night knocked down 13 three-pointers.
Three Scots reached double figures in scoring.
Pierce Peters (So., Glenwood, Minn. / Minnewaska Area) finished with 14 points and six rebounds, and has now led the Scots in scoring 10 times in 14 games.
Kyle Hamblett (Sr., Paris, France / American School of Paris) scored 12 points and
Colin Keeley (Sr., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) added 10.
Carleton was led by Jeremy Sutherland with 21 points and four blocked shots. Scott Theisen and Seth Jonker added 14 points each. The Knights win for the 13th straight time on their home court.
The visiting Scots led 8-3 early before the Knights used a dominant 33-6 rally over the next 12 minutes to go up 36-14.
The Scots return to action Wednesday (Jan. 19) when they host first-place St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m.
