Keeley scores 24 but Scots lose at Concordia

Macalester vs. Concordia statistics

Colin Keeley (Jr., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) scored a career-high 24 points and pulled down seven rebounds, but Concordia went 11-for-22 on three-pointers and beat Macalester 76-54 in Moorhead. Keeley made 11 of his 15 shots on the night.

Concordia led 42-24 at halftime by shooting 58% and moves up to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the MIAC. Macalester is now 2-10 on the season, 0-7 in conference play.

Keeley's previous scoring highs were 20-point efforts last winter against Hamline and Augsburg.

Pierce Peters (Fy., Glenwood, Minn. / Minnewaska Area) handed out four assists, and Jerry Kraus (Sr., Bucharest, Romania / Chaparral – Colo.) finished with three steals and six boards.

While the Cobbers were knocking down half of their three-point shots, the Scots were just 2-for-18 from behind the line.

Ahead 18-12, Concordia began a 12-2 run to take command of the contest, pulling ahead by 16 points at 30-14 at the five-minute mark of the first half.

The Cobs were led by Karl Olson with 15 points and five assists. Darrin Olmscheid added 10 points, while John Fraase had 12 rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists.

Macalester looks for its first MIAC win Saturday (Jan. 9) when it hosts Augsburg at the Leonard Center at 3 p.m.
