Macalester vs. Augsburg statistics
Augsburg went on a 15-3 run to close out the first half, turning a 17-16 deficit into an 11-point halftime lead, and went on to beat the host Scots 66-52 Saturday afternoon at the Leonard Center. The Auggies led by between 11 and 16 throughout the entire second half and with the win clinch an MIAC post-season playoff berth.
The Auggies turned the ball over just seven and out-scored Macalester 16-4 in points off turnovers.
Paul Richie paced Macalester with 12 points, while
Jerry Kraus (Jr., Bucharest, Romania / Chaparral (Colo.)) and
David Lewin (Sr., Wayland, Mass.) chipped in 11 points apiece. Krauss pulled down seven rebounds.
James Murrey (Jr., Western Springs, Ill. / Lyons Township) had nine points and three blocked shots.
Nate Alm finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Augsburg. Jon Cassens and Ben Flavin each added 11 points.
The Scots travel to Moorhead next Wednesday (Feb. 11) to take on Concordia.
