Macalester vs. Wisconsin-River Falls statistics
Wisconsin-River Falls took control early, led 43-16 at halftime, and went on to topple the cold-shooting Scots 74-40 at the Leonard Center. Macalester was held to a 31% shooting figure and made just 2-of-17 three-point tries. UWRF out-scored the hosts 19-2 from the free throw line.
Leading 7-4 in the early going, UW-River Falls out-scored the Scots 28-4 over the next 12 minutes to take command of the contest at 35-8 with 3:21 left in the period. The lead was never in jeopardy after that.
Pierce Peters (Fy., Glenwood, Minn. / Minnewaska Area) netted eight points to pace Macalester.
Colin Keeley (Jr., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) was Mac's top rebounder with nine boards.
Kyle Hamblett (Jr., Paris, France / American School of Paris) contributed three assists and three steals.
Jake Voeltz pumped in 19 points on an 8-for-11 shooting effort to pace River Falls. Danny Johnson added 12 points and Jontae Koonkaew had 10 points and six assists. UWRF shot 53% on the night.
UW-River Falls improves to 7-6, while the Scots drop to 2-7.
