Macalester vs. Hamline statistics
The Pipers marched out to a 33-13 lead midway through the first half and never looked back, pulling away for an 84-56 win over the visiting Scots and gaining a season sweep over their Snelling Ave. neighbors. Hamline shot 51% from the field and made 10-of-21 from behind the three-point arc.
Colin Keeley (So., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) knocked down 4-of-6 from three-point range and finished with 18 points to pace Macalester.
David Lewin (Sr., Wayland, Mass.) came off the bench to add 12 for the Scots.
Paul Richie (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) added nine points.
Hamline had five players reach double figures in scoring, led by Tony Thrasher and Carl Hipps with 18 each. Thrasher grabbed 10 boards and Hipp pulled down seven.
Next up for Macalester is an MIAC contest Wednesday (Jan. 28) at Bethel.
