Macalester vs. Carleton statistics
Carleton's Annie Isler nailed a short jumper from the middle of the lane with :03 remaining to give the Knights their only lead of the game and a 56-55 victory over the Scots in St. Paul. The Knights jump to 6-7 overall and 5-5 in the MIAC. Macalester is now 8-5 on the year, 6-4 in league play.
The contest was close throughout and over the last 10 minutes of the game, the Macalester lead was never greater than six points as Carleton hung close until Isler's last-second heroics.
Ann Baltzer (Jr., Bismarck, N.D.) scored 16 points to pace the Scots and
Trina PaStarr (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest) added 13.
Maggie Wood (Fy., Madison, Wis. / Edgewood) handed out seven assists and
Eartha Bell (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Breck School) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to match a career high.
Isler paced Carleton with 14 points, while Hannah Oken-Berg and Sarah Lincoln each tallied nine points. Oken-Berg also blocked three shogts and Megan Mileusnic grabbed eight boards.
The Scots will try to rebound from this heart-breaking defeat when they host St. Catherine on Monday (Jan. 19) at 7:30 p.m.
