Macalester vs. Augsburg statistics
Macalester went 7-for-15 from behind the three-point arc to beat Augsburg 84-58 in Minneapolis as four players reached double figures in scoring.
Ann Baltzer (Jr., Bismarck, N.D.) led all players with 18 points as the Scots improve to 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the MIAC. The host Auggies drop to 2-9 on the year, 0-8 in league play.
The Scots out-scored Augsburg 30-9 in points off turnovers and 39-8 in bench points. Mac enjoyed a 20-11 turnover advantage and hustled for 19 offensive rebounds. Macalester received assists on 26 of its 29 baskets.
Three Scots tallied eight first half points to lead the visitors to a 44-31 lead at the halftime break. Mac went 5-for-9 on treys in the half. Macalester's lead was never in jeopardy in the second half.
Majra Mucic (So., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park, Minn.)) came off the bench to give the Scots a double-double, finishing the afternoon with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Eartha Bell (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Breck School) and
Jessica Rene (Fy., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) added 10 points each.
Danielle Johnson (Jr., DeForest, Wis. / Madison Edgewood) enjoyed a solid all-around game, finishing with eight points, five assists, five rebounds and three steals.
Christa Suedbeck contributed 14 points, eight boards and four blocked shots to lead the Auggies. Shannon Renne added 12 points and Michelle Richter had 10.
Macalester plays its next three games at home, beginning with a tilt Wednesday (Jan. 14) against St. Olaf at 7:30 p.m.
