Macalester vs. St. Olaf stats & play-by-play
St. Olaf out-scored the Scots 30-10 over the game's final 10:17 to erase a 14-point deficit and defeat Macalester 61-55 at the College of St. Catherine. Kristina Stoermer finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals to lead they way for the Oles.
With the win, St. Olaf improves to 7-14 on the year and 6-12 in MIAC play. Macalester falls to 8-13 overall and 7-11 in the MIAC.
The first half was close throughout, with Mac finishing on a 6-0 run to take a 31-24 lead into the intermission. Macalester's lead grew to 14 points on a couple occasions, the last coming at 45-31 with 10:56 to play. The Oles, however, scored nearly half of their points from that point on. Jamie Erdahl had all 13 of her points in the second half.
Ann Baltzer (So., Bismarck, N.D.) registered her seventh double-double of the season to lead the way for Macalester, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ranked second in the conference in shooting percentage coming into the game, Baltzer went 8-for-11 from the field.
Trina PaStarr (So., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest) added 12 points to reach double digits for the eighth game in a row. MIAC steals leader
Eartha Bell (So., Minneapolis, Minn. / Breck) provided five steals and four assists.
Stoermer and Erdahl were joined in double figures by Ole teammates Kelsey Oja with 11 points and Danielle Stoermer with 10. Danielle Stoermer also had four steals.
The Scots return to action Wednesday (Feb. 13) when the host MIAC-leading St. Benedict at the College of St. Catherine at 5:45 p.m.
