Macalester vs. St. Olaf stats & play-by-play
St. Olaf closed out the first-half by out-scoring Macalester 21-7 and went on to gain an 81-64 MIAC victory over the Scots at the College of St. Catherine's Butler Center. The Oles made 9-of-20 from behind the three-point line, and shot 53% on the day.
The Oles boost their record to 10-12 overall and 8-9 in MIAC action. The Scots fall to 6-15 overall, 4-12 in the MIAC.
MIAC scoring leader
Tom Conboy (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn. / Minnetonka) reached the 20-point mark for the 15th time in 21 games, scoring 27 points while grabbing nine rebounds. He goes over the 1,800-point plateau in career scoring and now has 1,819 points.
Abe Woldeslassie (Sr., Richfield, Minn. / St. Thomas Academy) also had another solid showing, providing the team with 16 points and six assists. He is third in the MIAC in these two categories.
Colin Keeley (Fy., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) had nine points off the bench and
Kyle Hamblett (Fy., Paris, France / American School of Paris) pulled down seven boards.
Bobby Hunter led the way for St. Olaf with 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists, going 11-for-15 from the floor. Chad Norberg chipped in 12 points, while Tucker Sheley had 10. Steve Banick handed out five assists.
The Scots will try to snap their four-game skid when they host St. John's on Wednesday (Feb. 13) at 7:45 at the College of St. Catherine.
