Macalester vs. Bethel statistics

Bethel closed out the first half on a 15-2 run to turn a closely-played game into a 44-32 halftime lead, and went on to topple the Scots 73-50 at the Leonard Center. The Royals held the hosts to 18 second half points and were never threatened in the period. Bethel improves to 6-1 on the season and 2-1 in the MIAC, while Macalester is now 0-7 overall, 0-3 in league play.

Two Scots scored in double figures. Kyle Hamblett (So., Paris, France / American School of Paris) led all scorers with 18 points, going 6-for-9 from the floor and adding six free throws. Colin Keeley (So., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) added 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Paul Richie (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) finished with eight points and Nate Assel (Sr., Eagan, Minn. / Rosemount) handed out six assists.

Mike Moberg had 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead the way for the Royals, while Chris Vavra added 13 points.

The Scots play host Wednesday (Dec. 10) to St. John's at 7:30 and then are off until a Dec. 29 non-conference game at Wisconsin-River Falls.
