St. Olaf topples Scots 60-48

Macalester vs. St. Olaf stats & play-by-play

The Scots cut a deficit to six points with just under three minutes to play, but host-St. Olaf pulled away to take a 60-48 win over Macalester in Northfield. Mac was held to a 37% shooting figure for the day and went only 12-for-28 from the free throw stripe.

Macalester drops to 5-7 on the season and 3-4 in MIAC play. St. Olaf picks up its second conference win and goes to 3-8 overall, 2-6 in the MIAC.

Danielle Johnson (So., DeForest, Wis. / Madison Edgewood) paced Macalester with 14 points while also picking up three steals. Trina PaStarr (So., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest) just missed a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing nine boards to go along with three assists. Eartha Bell (So., Minneapolis, Minn. / Breck) had eight rebounds and four steals and Alyssa Lunde (So., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) pulled down eight rebounds.

Jamie Erdahl went 4-for-6 on three pointers and finished with 22 points and five assists to pace St. Olaf. Elyse Erickson added 16 points.

The Oles led 19-8 after an early 12-2 run and took a 27-20 lead into the halftime break. The Scots cut the margin to two points midway through the second half. The hosts then staged a 10-0 rally to go up 45-33 with 8:20 to play.

Next up for Mac is an MIAC contest Wednesday (Jan. 16) Bethel.
