Macalester vs. Simpson statistics

Macalester played to its second 1-1 double overtime draw in two days Saturday night against Simpson in Indianola, Iowa. The day before, Macalester and Central ( Ia. ) batted to a 1-1 deadlock.

Against Central on Friday, the Scots wasted no time and scored in the game's first minute. It was much the same as the Storm as Carson Gorecki (Jr., Mahtomedi , Minn.) scored at the 2:29 mark from inside the goalkeeper's box on an assist from Jake Rocke (So., Lincoln, Neb. / East).

Macalester kept its lead through the first half, but Simpson netted the equalizer just 1:02 into the second half.

The Scots enjoyed an 11-4 advantage in corner kicks and out-shot the Storm 19-6. Mac goalkeeper Evan Mitchell (Sr., Minneapolis , Minn. / South) registered four saves.

Macalester returns to action Tuesday (Sept. 4) when it plays host to St. Scholastica.
