Claremont-Mudd-Scripps received 31 points on an 11-for-15 shooting performance from Dan Winterbottom and went on to defeat Macalester 64-59 at the David Wells Classic in Claremont , California . The Stags go to 2-1 and the Scots drop to 0-3.

The Scots knocked down 10 three-pointers, including four by Abe Woldeslassie (Sr., Richfield, Minn. / St. Thomas Academy). Woldeslassie paced the team with 17 points. Tom Conboy (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn. / Minnetonka) added 14 points and 10 rebounds for his 25th double-double in his collegiate career.

Winterbottom, who scored just under half of CMS's points, also accounted for seven of his team's eight free throws and both of its three-pointers. Craig Borengasser had 10 points and seven rebounds and Dan Bergsma collected four steals.

The Scots play tomorrow against Pomona-Pitzer.
