Eric Tettegah (Fy., Brooklyn Park, Minn. / Breck School) tallied his first collegiate goal late in the second half to lift Macalester past Concordia 1-0.
Adric Mueller (Sr., Madison, Wis. / West) assisted on the game-winning score.
Macalester stays alive in the race for an MIAC playoff spot at 3-3 in conference play, and goes to 6-5-3 overall. The Cobbers are now 2-9-1 on the year and 1-5 in the MIAC.
Each team had several scoring chances and the second half was fairly evenly played after the Scots controlled play for much of the first half. The difference for Macalester was the play of goalkeeper Ryan Palmer (Sr., Helena, Mont. / Capital), who stretched out to turn away six shots on goal. Concordia also received strong goalkeeping from Mads Schmidt.
On the evening, Mac out-shot its guests 14-7 and enjoyed a 9-1 corner kick advantage.
Having gone over the .500 mark on the season, the Scots are looking to get past .500 in the conference when they travel to Winona to challenge St. Mary's on Saturday (Oct. 13) at 1 p.m.
