Jason Muhl

Jason Muhl enters his 16th year as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Macalester College. During his tenure leading the Scots, Muhl has coached 23 student-athletes who have earned All-MIAC honors. In 2018, Lily Stein received the MIAC's Chris Evert Award, while Brian Utz was named the Arthur Ashe Award winner in 2016. Both awards recognize a senior tennis student-athlete with outstanding sportsmanship and exemplary athletic, academic and humanitarian accomplishments.

In 2008 Muhl was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Coach of the Year after guiding the Scots to their best season in school history, and in 2010 was picked as MIAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.

A former standout at St. Cloud State University, where he was team captain, Muhl has coached in recent years at Burnsville High School, the Blake School and Eastview High School.

Muhl holds undergraduate degrees in recreation administration from St. Cloud State University, elementary education from Bemidji State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University.  He currently teaches elementary school in the New Prague School District.
