James Murrey (So., Western Springs, Ill. / Lyons Township) picked up right where he left off in his all-conference freshman season, dominating the opposition in his first two starts of the season at the Metrodome. Early Monday morning (March 3), Murrey held Loras (Ia.) hitless in six innings of work in a 7-1 Macalester win. Then on Sunday night (March 9), Murrey allowed just one hit while striking out six batters in five innings of mound duty in a 5-0 Mac victory. Murrey held opposing hitters to a meager .027 average (one hit in 37 at-bats) in 11 innings pitched in his two starts.
