Andrew Yokom (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn. / Mounds View) sprinted to a first-place finish in the 55-meter dash finals at the Carleton College Pre-MIAC Meet in Northfield. A finalist at last year’s outdoor NCAA Division III championships in the 400-meter hurdles, Yokom won his heat in 6.62 and edged teammate Kyle Hamblett to take the finals in 6.59 – the best Macalester time this decade and second on the school’s all-time honor roll to record-holder Richmond Sarpong (6.55 in 1995). He also placed third in the 200-meter dash (23.13).
