Nathan Young (Fy., Denver, Colo. / Littleton) won three individual events, two in school-record clockings, to lead the Macalester men to a third-place finish in the eight-team Grinnell ( Ia. ) Invitational Friday and Saturday. Mac's top point-scorer on the season, Young placed first in the finals of the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.41), first in the 100-yard backstroke (53.34), and also first in the 200 backstroke (1:55.53). His 200 back time breaks the old school record of 1:58.05 set by Brian Deiger in 1993. His 100 backstroke mark breaks the old Macalester school record of 54.28 established by Erik Nelson in 2001.
