Macalester's Renee Jordan (Sr., Anchorage, Alaska / Steller Secondary School) and Hunter Hedenberg (So., Proctorsville, Vt. / Newton North (Mass.)) competed at the NCAA Division III Region 1 Diving Meet at Denison University in Granville, Ohio) and each performed very well, with Jordan automatically qualifying for nationals. The NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship will take place in Indianapolis, Ind. on March 19-22. Jordan placed second Friday on the 3-meter board, taking runner-up to the defending NCAA champion from Kenyon, Maria Zarka. Jordan's score was a school all-time best 490.05. Jordan is also one of six regional qualifiers in 1-meter diving. She posted a school-record 299.55 on the board and had the top overall score in that event Saturday. A year ago she was tops in the region in 3-meter diving.
