Irene Gibson (Fy., Carmel, Ind.) placed first in the 600-meter dash Saturday at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) indoor track & field championships at the Leonard Center. Gibson passed her rival from Hamline just at the finish line to win by 1/100 second. Her 1:37.80 time is a school record. Gibson also placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a 2:19.83 clocking.
