For the second week in a row, Tara McCoy (Sr., Menomonie, Wis.) is the Macalester Athlete of the Week. McCoy claimed a first-place individual finish at the MIAC track & field championships over the weekend at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, and also helped the Scots earn a first-place relay finish. McCoy placed first in the finals of the 800-meter run Saturday with a time of 2:14.92 – winning by nearly four seconds. In Friday night’s final event, McCoy ran the second leg of Macalester’s MIAC championship 8x800-meter relay team, which set a school record with a mark of 9:19.58.
