Tara McCoy (Sr., Menomonie, Wis.) stalked the leaders for a couple laps and then pulled away for an authoritative win in the 1000-meter run Friday night (Feb. 25) at Macalester’s Pre-MIAC Meeting at the Leonard Center. McCoy’s 2:58.95 mark is the second best in school history behind the 2:57.24 school-record clocking by Mary Schlick in 1980. She goes into this weekend’s MIAC indoor championships ranked No. 1 in both the 800-meter run and 1000-meter run.
