Jeff Yamashita (Sr., Honolulu, Hi. / Iolani School) swam to a pair of runner-up finishes to lead the way for Macalester at the seven-team Grinnell Invitational Friday and Saturday (Jan. 21-22) in Grinnell, Iowa. On Friday, Yamashita placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a 49.01 clocking. Yamashita followed up his runner-up swim in the 100 free on day two with another second-place finish Saturday in the 100-yard butterfly, reaching the wall in 54.27. He was also sixth in the finals of the 50 freestyle (22.89).
