Kenyon won two more events Saturday, bringing its total for the meet to eight, to wrap up its 30th straight national championship on the fourth and final day at the NCAA Division III men's and women's swimming & diving championships at the the University of Minnesota's Dorothy L. Sheppard Pool in the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. The 30 straight national titles won by the Lords is by far the longest streak by any NCAA team in any sport in any division.

Kenyon's women were equally impressive during this competition hosted by Macalester College, as the Ladies pick up their 23rd championship trophy and third in a row. Five different swimmers claimed individual championships as Kenyon dominated despite not winning any relays.

The runner-up and third-place finishers were identical in both the men's and women's final standings. The Kenyon women finished with 560 points, followed by Emory with 466 ½ and Denison with 413. On the men's side, the Lords compiled 604 points, followed by Emory with 402 and Denison with 308.50.  The fourth-place finishers were the Williams women and St. Olaf men.

Five individual events were contested on Saturday's closing night in the men's meet. Kenyon claimed its 19th straight winner in the 1650-yard freestyle when Keegan Borland got the evening off to an excellent start by placing first in this event (15:19.98). Caleb Courage from Grove City followed that by taking the finals of the 100 freestyle (43.62).  Courage won the 100 free national title in  '06 and '07 and spent the 2007-08 academic year in training for the United States Olympic Trials before returning to Grove City for his senior season this year.

NCAA Division III Swimmer of the Year John Thomas from Johns Hopkins won the 200 backstroke (1:46.71), St. Olaf's Nelson Westby took the 200 breaststroke (1:59.26) and Nicholas Halbach from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy came out on top in 3-meter diving (536.35). Halbach was named Diver of the Year. Thomas, Westby and Halbach all earned a pair of championships during the week.

Kenyon capped its meet by taking the 400 free relay (2:56.22).

Four individual event winners were crowned in the women's competition Saturday.

Division III Swimmer of the Year Liz Horvat from Emory, took her third event of the meet when she started off the evening session by winning the 1650-yard freestyle (16:30.17). The sophomore earlier won the 500 free and 400 IM.

Kendra Stern from Amherst repeated as champ in the 100 freestyle (49.37). Kenyon put the icing on the cake when Carolyn Barer won the 200 backstroke (2:00.15) and Alisa Vereshchagin reached the wall first in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Denison closed out the meet by winning the 400 freestyle relay (3:21.97).

Twenty-two NCAA records were established in the 40 events, including in all five men's relays. Seven men's individual events were taken by repeat winners.

Saturday night's finals witnessed by a sellout U of M Aquatic Center crowd of 1,350.
