Ron Osterman is in his 28th year with the Macalester College Athletic Department. As Assistant Director of Athletics - Facilities, he is responsible for the overall management and supervision of Macalester's indoor and outdoor athletic and recreational facilities. In addition, Osterman is the equipment, game event and student employment manager.
Osterman graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1987 with a degree in communications. He earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Studies in 1989 and served as a graduate assistant for facilities in the Recreational Sports Department.
From 1989-1991, Osterman was assistant and associate director of the Klotsche Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In 1991, he returned to Minnesota and served as the activities director at St. Cloud Technical College for five years.
Osterman started his work at Macalester in 1998 when he was hired as the facilities and equipment manager. He has served in that capacity since that time and was promoted to assistant director of athletics in 2006.
