WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team beat  the College of St. Scholastica, 6-3 in a non-conference dual Saturday afternoon. The Scots are now 1-1 on the season, while the Saints are now 2-2.

Macalester's No. 1 singles Laurel Hickey  (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) won over Daniela Rojas 6-3,6-2.  Macalester's other top singles players No.2 Claire Buehler (Houston, Texas/Awty International School) won over Elise Hauer 6-3, 7-5 and No.3 Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) won in three sets to beat Katelyn Rice, 6-2, 7-5, 10-1.

The Scots won two out of three doubles matches with Laurel Hickey  (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and Natali Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) won 8-2.  Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) and Megan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich/Northview) won their doubles match also 8-2.

Macalester returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 17, facing Saint Mary's University  in Winona, Minn.
