ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team closed out MIAC competition this afternoon at St. Thomas's Anderson Field House placing 11th overall as a team with 11 points. The meet was won by St. Thomas for the 33rd consecutive year.
The 4x400-meter relay team composed of first year
Eddy Reyes Herrera (Sonoma, Calif./Sonoma Valley), senior
Tayeb Zaidi (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding), junior
Brian Eisner (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) and senior
Tre Nowaczynski (Hales Corners, Wis./West Allis Central) placed seventh overall in a time of 3:30.38.
In the 3000 meter run, senior
Lachlan Hinwood (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) and junior
Mac Doherty (Madison, Wis./Madison East) both notched season bests finishing in 8:57.11 (11th) and 9:02.00 (16th), respectively.
On Day 1, the Scots picked up points from senior
Lachlan Hinwood's fourth-place finish in the mile, junior
Jack Schultenover (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Secondary) placing sixth in the 100-meter dash and an eighth-place performance from the team's distance medley relay.
The MIAC Championships marked the conclusion of the indoor season for the Scots. They will resume racing with the start of the outdoor campaign on April 1 at the Hamline Invite.
